Readerling

Bring your readers home.

Readerling is a reader-and-author platform from Plot Foundry, and it is built into Scribi. Publish your catalog, share your progress, and reach the readers who chose to follow you, without fighting an algorithm for the privilege. It is live at readerling.com and growing.

What Readerling is.

Readerling is a cozy corner of the internet for readers who love their authors, and authors who love their readers. Think indie bookshop with a coffee bar, not a warehouse and not a feed.

Here is the problem it is built to solve. As an indie author, you can do everything right: post across five platforms, keep a newsletter, show up often enough that the algorithm remembers you exist. And you still struggle to reach the people who actually chose to follow you. The storefronts know everything about your readers and share none of it. Your words get filtered, reordered, and buried under everything else fighting for attention.

Readerling is a focused space where that does not happen. When you share a moment from the book you are writing, it lands with the people who came to be there for it. The line that made you laugh. The chapter that wrecked you. The cover you are finally proud of. No algorithm deciding whether they are allowed to see it. Just you and your readers.

It is not a Kindle competitor, a Goodreads replacement, or another place to be ranked and sorted. It is simply a place to be read.

Built into the studio.

Flip a switch
Turn on Readerling in Scribi and your author page goes live, with a sign-up URL you can put anywhere: the back of your books, your link tree, your newsletter.
Your catalog, automatically
Your published books and pre-orders appear on their own, organized by pen name, world, and series, with covers, descriptions, and store links. Readers see a clean page that updates whenever you do.
Post without leaving your editor
A thought hits while you are writing? Click a button, type a quick update, and it goes straight to your followers with a push notification the moment you post.
Pre-orders that remind for you
Announce a pre-order once and your followers get notified, then reminded again as the release date approaches.

Scribi is the way to build a presence on Readerling, and the only way to report progress on your books to the platform. That is deliberate. It keeps Readerling free, ad-free, and clear of the fake pen names and AI-slop accounts that overrun open-signup platforms. As Readerling grows, other ways to manage and publish content will follow. For now, your Scribi license is your key.

Proof of progress.

Here is something readers are quietly anxious about: they can no longer tell whether a book was written by a person or generated by a machine. They want to support real authors. They want to fall in love with stories written by human beings. But there is no reliable way to prove a book was not churned out by AI, and that uncertainty makes them nervous.

Readerling cannot close that gap directly; the technology to definitively detect AI writing simply does not exist yet. But it can do something better. It can let your readers watch you work.

Scribi already tracks your writing: every session, every word, the rhythm of your progress. Readerling turns that into a provenance of progress, right on your book’s page. Flip a switch, and your readers can follow along in very nearly real time as the book takes shape. They cheer you on. They feel like part of the process. And they get the closest thing to proof that you wrote your book that they are likely to find anywhere.

Scribi separates the words you wrote from text you pasted in, so the progress your readers see is genuinely your own effort.

It is entirely optional. But if you want it, Scribi makes it effortless. You just flip the switch. And as AI creeps into every corner of art, that kind of visible, human trust is going to matter more and more. The authors who let readers see the work behind the words are the ones readers will learn to trust.

Here is the part that is almost too good: it markets the book for you. Readers get a digest of your progress on the titles they are waiting for. From the moment you announce a project to the day you publish or open pre-orders, your readers stay on board and get reminded of what is coming, regularly and automatically. Doing that by hand across social channels is a second full-time job. Readerling just does it, as a side effect of you writing your book.

Where it is headed.

Read on the platform
An ebook reader built into Readerling, so readers can enjoy your books in the same place they follow you.
Buy direct
Sell your books directly to readers on the platform and keep the vast majority of every sale.
Bring your own copy
Bought a book on Amazon, Kobo, or anywhere else? If it is DRM-free, readers will be able to bring their copy to Readerling and link their reading to the platform. No moving libraries, no pulling your book out of Kindle Unlimited. The big marketplaces matter, and Readerling is built to work alongside them.
Beta reads and ARCs
A seamless beta-reading and ARC process, so getting your book in front of early readers is as smooth as everything else.

The intention of the platform is to help authors be successful, end to end, and it always will be. That is the whole point, and it is personal: Readerling is built by an indie author who knows exactly how the big marketplaces work, and why they matter.
